Entertainment Weekly is on fire with their Comic-Con issue released in stores today. Alongside the big Marvel Comics post-Avengers vs. X-Men plans, the issue (and website) also reveals a new Avengers short film coming on the blu-ray and DVD release of the $600 million behemoth.Caplan, courtesy EW.com Item 47 is the title of the latest "Marvel One Shot" short, following in the heels of The Consultant and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer. The short stars Lizzy Caplan and Jesse Bradford as a regular human couple who find one of the alien guns post-invasion and use it for a short crime spree to try to improve their lot in life. Maximiliano Hernández and Titus Welliver also star as two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents seeking to recover the weapon. The film lasts 12 minutes, making it three times longer than the prior One Shots. Marvel Studios confirmed to EW that these shorts will continue, with scripts already being written to accompany Iron Man 3, Thor 2, and Captain America 2. While most fans will have to wait until the September 25, 2012 home release of Marvel's The Avengers to see Item 47, Comic-Con International San Diego attendees who squeeze into Hall H for the Marvel Studios panel will get to see it in its entirety a couple months early.
