ASSASSIN'S CREED: THE CHAIN Brings Franchise Back to Comics

After The Fall, The Chain will link it all together.

Assassin's Creed: The Chain is coming Late Summer 2012, but rather than serializing through DC Comics as the first series, The Fall did, Ubisoft's creative outreach division UbiWorkshop will be self-publishing the comic as a 96-page graphic novel. While the book does not yet have a firm release date, Ubisoft is taking pre-orders on their site now.

The book reunites creative team Karl Kerschl and Cameron Stewart, who both write and draw the book in a unique collaborative process. The team, studiomates in Montreal, Quebec, actually passes pages back and forth to each other (digitally), drawing over one another to create a hybrid art style neither could complete on their own. Daniel and Nikolai, the stars of The Fall, return as well.

UbiWorkshop's official description of The Chain follows, promising a link (sorry) to the upcoming game Assassin's Creed III.

Eisner award winners Karl Kerschl and Cameron Stewart return to create the sequel of Assassin’s Creed The Fall. Assassin’s Creed The Chain completes the Daniel Cross/Nikolai Orelov narrative arc, but it also sheds a new light on Assassin’s Creed III…
