Bunn Taking Over VENOM From Remender with August's #23

Update: As the pattern tends to go, Cullen Bunn — who recently joined Venom as a co-writer — is taking over as new solo writer of the book as of August's issue #23, news announced Thursday afternoon at Marvel's latest "Next Big Thing" conference call with the comic book press.

Initial series writer Rick Remender's last issue will be Venom #22, which he wrote solely. Additionally, Thony Silas and Declan Shalvey are both on the book as rotating artists. Remender indicated that him leaving Venom very possibly means the announcement of a new Marvel project from him, but declined to go into any detail.

Original story: It's been a while since Marvel's last shrouded-in-mystery "Next Big Thing" conference call with the comic book press, but they're back, and, as tradition goes, we don't know who is going to be on the line, or what project will be discussed —but based on the art Marvel has sent over, it certainly appears to be related to the Venom ongoing series.
