The massive success of 2011's Batman: Arkham City (it received a 10 out of 10 from Newsarama, after all) has led to a seemingly inevitable expanded version, the Game of the Year Edition scheduled for May 29.Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition is headlined by "Harley Quinn's Revenge" — an extra chapter adding two hours of gameplay — plus all five previously released DLC packs and a download of last year's Batman: Year One animated feature. "Harley Quinn's Revenge" will be also available as DLC for those who've already purchased the game starting on May 29. "The Harley Quinn’s Revenge mission sends players back into Arkham City to face their final challenge as they interchange between playing as both Batman and Robin," according to the press release. "Gamers must utilize each of the characters' unique combat and investigative skills to uncover Harley's vengeful plan and shut the gates on the urban mega-prison forever. In addition to experiencing a new storyline, fans can explore new environments and face-off against Harley’s all new gang of thugs."
The new edition is out on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 29 in North America, with an international release in September. This is Warner and Rocksteady's second consecutive Batman title to receive the "Game of the Year" treatment, following 2009's Batman: Arkham Asylum.
