Marvel's AVENGERS VS. X-MEN Event - LIVE!

On Tuesday, Marvel made the existence of Avengers vs. X-Men — their 2012 event, a 12-part affair starting in April and helmed by some of their biggest creators — known to the world. Now just one day later, they're kicking it off with an event aired on Livestream.

Here's how Marvel describes it: "A unique event produced in collaboration with’s cutting edge streaming services and the Hangout functionality provided by Google+, we’re bringing the writers and editors of AVX directly to the fans." Marvel editor-in-chief Axel Alonso and senior vice president of publishing Tom Brevoort are definitely both participating, as is Avengers vs. X-Men co-writer Brian Michael Bendis — and presumably many more top-name pros.

But, what's that? You're at work, or some other place where you can't watch a streaming live video? Well, do we have good news for you! We're liveblogging the whole thing via Cover it Live, and you can follow along in the box directly below. Feel free to get involved in the comments and let us know what you think of the upcoming storyline and the details announced today — but keep in mind, it always pays to be constructive.

So yeah. The thing starts at 3 p.m. eastern. Let's have some fun and learn about Avengers vs. X-Men!
