First SUPERMAN: MAN OF STEEL Image
Thursday morning Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures gave the world the first image from Superman: Man of Steel, the now 2013 big screen reboot of the Superman franchise, directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Christopher Nolan.
The image shows star Henry Cavill in a new Superman costume, apparently busting out of (or is it into?) a vault. The costume uses a flecked pattern, looking frankly a little more like the "Kryptonian armor" costume the character will be wearing in the DC Comics relaunch in September.
There's also a shadow hiding the just-below-the-waist area of the costume, but it certainly appears that the main body of the costume is all blue, with no red trunks, again lining up with the new costume debuting in the DC comic books this fall. Sure to be of note to some fans, there's no S-curl on Cavill's forehead, despite him sporting it as he walked around San Diego during Comic-Con International in July.

The film also stars Amy Adams
as Lois Lane, Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Martha and Jonathan Kent, Michael Shannon as General Zod, and Julia Ormond and Russell
Crowe as Superman's Kryptonian parents.
Warners has also confirmed Tuesday's leaked news that actor Laurence
Fishburne has been added to the cast as Daily Planet editor-in-chief,
Perry White.
