NEW COMICS DAY Twitterama YOU Review Comics! 06/29

DC Comics

It's only Wednesday, but it's not too early to start thinking about the three-day weekend (for those of us in the states, at least) ahead, is it? And what better way to celebrate the birth of America than buying some new releases on New Comic Book Day? Looking for previews? Mosey over here, and check out exclusive looks at Batman Incorporated #7, Vampirella and the Scarlet Legion #2,  and more.

Beyond Batman Incorporated #7 — one of the last issues of that series before it goes on hiatus until 2012 — DC keeps the Flashpoint tie-in train rolling, with one-shots Green Arrow Industries and The Canterbury Cricket out, plus the first issues of the Hal Jordan and Project Superman three-part miniseries. Plus, "War of the Green Lanterns" gets an aftermath in Green Lantern: Emerald Warriors #11.

It's another big week for Marvel, with Amazing Spider-Man #664 — the first new issues of the twice-monthly series in four weeks — hitting the stands, and two Paul Jenkins-written books: the start of All-Winners Squad: Band of Heroes (interview here) and the end of X-Men: Prelude to Schism. The Fear Itself: Black Widow one-shot sees The Sixth Gun writer Cullen Bunn pick up that character's role in Marvel's ongoing conflict.

Another new Image series hits this week, that being Witch Doctor #1, from the team of Brandon Seitfert, Lukas Ketner and Sunny Gho. IDW's putting out Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters #4, and Archie Comics is rebooting their two-decade-long Sonic the Hedgehog history with a fresh start in issue #226.

That wily Best Shots Team has already reviewed those last three comics — plus Drums #2here, but guess what? We want to hear from you! So (legally) obtain as many new comics as you'd like, read them thoroughly, and then get on Twitter (Don't forget to follow us!), to deliver your 140-character-or-less thoughts on this week's releases.
