NEW COMICS DAY Twitterama YOU Review Comics! 04/27

Vertigo characters are crossing over with the DC Universe, thunder gods are getting new ongoing series — it's mass hysteria in the world of sequential art, just in time for another New Comic Book Day. For previews of this week's new releases, including exclusive look at Danger Girl/Army of Darkness #1 from Dynamite, head here.

For another look at this week's comics, head to Blog@Newsarama for the weekly column ‘Twas the Night Before Wednesday… by J. Caleb Mozzocco, this time around looking at everything from Secret Avengers (which has two new issues in stores today) to Genius, Isolated: The Life and Art of Alex Toth.

This just in: A live-action Thor feature film is coming out next Friday. Weird, right? To commemorate the occasion, Marvel's putting a new ongoing series, The Mighty Thor #1, in stores this week, by writer Matt Fraction and artist Olivier Coipel, making his return to the character after relaunching him with J. Michael Straczynski a few years back.

Both of DC's biweekly series come to an end this week, in Brightest Day #24 (find out more about that comic in our spoiler-filled interview) and Justice League: Generation Lost #24. Also, Action Comics reaches the rather notable milestone of #900, bringing the year-long Lex Luthor saga to an end and Superman back to the book.

Elsewhere in the comicsphere: BOOM! Studios is launching a new Planet of the Apes ongoing series, Morning Glories #9 continues the ever-buzzworthy Image title by Nick Spencer and Joe Eisma, Velocity #4 wraps things up for the Top Cow miniseries, plus there's a new issue of The Walking Dead.

The Best Shots crew has reviews of the previous four comics, plus Action Comics #900 and more in what might be their most packed advance column yet, but you know how this works, yes? We want to hear from you! So buy some comics, read them closely, then get on Twitter (Don't forget to follow us!), and let the world know your 140-character-or-less thoughts on this week's releases.
