DC Universe Online, in development since summer 2008 and originally planned for release the first week of November 2010, has been delayed to Quarter 1, 2011. Sony Online Entertainment announced the delay in a press release Monday afternoon. The company notes wanting to gain useful feedback from fans during the Beta testing period, also announced in the press release. The external Beta program will begin the week of October 11, 2010. Anyone with a VIP key card registered at the DCUO website will automatically get a beta key. Anyone who has pre-ordered or does pre-order before November 15, 2010 will also receive a beta key by the end of November. Pre-ordering after November 15, 2010 will also get beta access, but only for the week prior to the game's release. Without pre-ordering, gamers can try for the Beta by going to http://www.dcuniverseonline.com/en/beta/ today, October 4, 2010, and registering, though Beta access is not assured using that method. The exact release date will be announced after some time with the Beta. The accompanying comic book from DC Comics that will cross into the story of the game was not mentioned along with the delay, aside from a note about the special edition of the game. As November and December solicitations for DC Comics have already been released and don't include the comic, it will likely be delayed to coincide with the game's release. How do you feel about the delay?
