Marvel's ONE MONTH TO LIVE Gets Digital Week After Print

ONE MONTH TO LIVE Gets Digital Release

Marvel Comics took another step closer to day-and-date digital distribution of their products with Friday afternoon's announcement that each issue of the September-debuting Heroic Age: One Month to Live miniseries will be available on their Marvel Comics iPhone and iPad app one week after being released in print.

Typically, the gap between print and digital releases is much wider, with the bulk of Marvel's titles still not available through the app. Last month's Invincible Iron Man Annual #1 was the first (and to date, only) Marvel comic to see a simultaneous release in both formats.

Heroic Age: One Month to Live is a weekly five-issue miniseries unfolding over the month of September written and drawn by several different writers and artists, including Rick Remender, Stuart Moore, John Ostrander and Andrea Mutti. Issues wil be $2.99 in print, and the price point for the digital release is not yet known — the Invincible Iron Man Annual was $4.99 in print, and separated into three installments costing $6 total on the app.

Marvel's closest competitor, DC Comics, has been simultaneously releasing biweekly miniseries Justice League: Generation Lost digitally and in print since the debut of their app in June.
