Stephen Schiff, showrunner of the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story prequel show, has exited the Disney+ series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The reason for his exit was not given.

Tony Gilroy, who co-wrote the film and was already signed on to write and direct portions of the TV series, has reportedly stepped in to replace him. According to the Hollywood trade, the Rogue One prequel show's writing team is now comprised of Gilroy, his brother Dan Gilroy, and Beau Willimon.

As part of the report, THR conveys that Genevieve O'Reilly will reprise her role as Mon Mothma (from Rogue One), and has joined the show alongside a new actor, Denise Gough, in a mystery role.

This Rogue One prequel show is reported to be centered on Diego Luna's Rebel intelligence officer character Cassian Andor, but set five years before the events of the film.
