Max Von Sydow Dies at Age 90

Swedish actor Max Von Sydow died on Sunday, May 8, 2020 at the age of 90, according to a statement from his family to BBC News.

Best known to the general public for his role in The Seventh Seal, The Greatest Story Ever Told, and The Exorcist, Von Sydow frequently appeared in sci-fi/fantasy films including Flash Gordon, Conan the Barbarian, Dune, Ghostbusters II, Judge Dredd, Minority Report, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and even in the HBO TV series Game of Thrones.

Von Sydow was nominated for a Prime Time Emmy Award for his role as the Three-eyed Raven in Game of Thrones, and previously received Academy Award nominations for Pelle the Conqueror and Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close.

Von Sydow is survived by his wife and four children.
