A 'propaganda' teaser for Marvel Comics' upcoming summer event Empyre has been released.

The image, by frequent cover artist John Tyler Christopher, casts the Avengers - specifically Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America - as villains who committed "atrocities" against the Skrulls as part of the Avengers.

"The return of the Celestial Messiah to the Blue Area of the Moon sets off a new chapter in the Kree/Skrull War - only this time, it’s a Kree/Skrull Alliance aimed directly at Earth, and only the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and more of Earth’s heroes stand in their way…" reads Marvel's accompanying text.

The poster continues, urging individuals to "join the alliance" - that is the newly-formed Kree/Skrull Alliance.

Empyre #1 from writers Al Ewing and Dan Slott, along with artist Valerio Schiti, is set to launch April 15.
