Disney+'s Loki head writer Michael Waldron has been tapped to write Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Waldron would reportedly take over from the film's original writer, Jade Bartlett; it is unspecified if this is to revise that script, or start from scratch.
This writing change follows the departure of the franchise's original director Scott Derrickson, and reports that Sam Raimi (yeah, that Sam Raimi) was in talks to replace him.
Of course, Waldron was already connected somewhat to this Doctor Strange sequel - his Loki film was announced to tie into this film, alongside sister Disney+ show WandaVision.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled to hit theaters May 7, 2021.
