Rick Remender and his production company, Giant Generator, have signed a three-year overall deal with Sony Pictures Television and they've already set up a Fear Agent TV adaptation at Amazon, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The trade goes on to say that Amazon beat out NBC's Peacock and Warner Media's HBO Max and TNT, who were also bidding on the Fear Agent adaptation as well.
"Interstellar invaders. Time travel. Clones of clones of clones, and lots of whiskey," reads Sony's logline for Fear Agent. "Whether he’s battling the scourge of of space, going back in time to stop the alien invasion that changed earth forever, or winning his ex-wife back, there’s nothing that Heath Huston won’t do to try to right the wrongs and gets his family back. He is, after all, the last Fear Agent."
The TV adaptation of Fear Agent will be written by The Batman's Mattson Tomlin with the pilot directed by Shazam!'s David F. Sandberg. Sandberg is onboard as a producer, alongside the comic book's co-creators Remender and Tony Moore, along with Seth Rogen, Matt Tolmach, and Lotta Losten.
