Updated February 13, 2020: Marvel has released Pat Gleason's cover for Lords of Empyre: Emperor Hulkling, seen here.
Along with the new cover, some new information about the series was also released.
"For as long as the universe can remember, the Kree and Skrull empires been locked in what seemed like a never-ending war, but now, a former Young Avenger has done the impossible," reads the text released alongside the cover. "Abandoning Earth, his fellow heroes, and the love of his life, Hulkling has united both intergalactic empires under his rule and now heads to Earth with one of the largest armadas the cosmos has ever seen. "
Original Story from January 13, 2020: Young Avengers' Hulkling has skyrocketed from teen hero to Emperor of a unified Kree/Skrull alliance, and his path to the throne will be told in a new Empyre tie-in due out this April.
Lords of Empyre: Emperor Hulkling by writers Chip Zdarsky and Anthony Oliveira and artist Manuel Garcia will explore Hulking's ascent, from his origin to his present-day - and the 'destiny' that took him there.
"For all the grandeur and soap-operatics of his origin, he's often been left on the sidelines. This story is about really delving into that sense of restlessness, and his epic, classic hero's journey - star-crossed romance! colossal space battles! a long lost prince! - grounded in its heart with a question about what it might mean, and what it might cost, to be king - and the terrible strain it puts on the love of his life," explains Oliveira.
"I can't wait til Teddy fans see what we have in store - and what Marvel's planning for the rest of Empyre! This crossover is going to take the cosmos by storm!
Here is the solicitation for the April one-shot. Look for Marvel's full April 2020 solicitations later this month on Newsarama.
