4 Kids Walk Into a Bank's Tyler Boss is trading bank heists for small town mysteries - and going solo to do it - in Dark Horse's Dead Dog's Bite.
"Dead Dog’s Bite is something I’ve been quietly working on for the past four years and can’t wait for people to read it," Boss said in an announcement. "I hope readers find themselves making their own crazy walls to try and solve the mystery before the story is over."
Dead Dog's Bite follows a woman named Joe from the small town of Pendermills who is searching for his disappeared best friend, Cormac Guffin. The police don't have any leads, and don't seem to be interested in digging deeper - but she is. But what she finds are "horrors... far deeper than she had ever known," according to Dark Horse.
Boss has previously worked with Image Comics, IDW Publishing, Black Mask Studios and Archie Comics, but this Dark Horse partnership is a first - and for a very unique reason.
"I’m really excited to have it be published by a company with such a scary horse for a logo," Boss said. "Seriously, name a publisher with a scarier horse who represents them."
The four-issue series is scheduled to launch April 8.
