Gibson plays an FBI agent named Simon Stroud in Morbius, co-starring with Jared Leto who plays the titular vampire.
This comes as a purported screenshot from the film was posted online. The image, which has not been verified, depicts Jared Leto walking in an alley next to an image of Spider-Man with the word "Murderer" spray-painted over it. The Spider-Man image has attracted attention, as it appears to be the Sam Raima-era design of Spider-Man, but as homaged in the recent PlayStation 4 game Spider-Man.
If genuine, the "Murderer?" poster is also interesting considering in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, J. Jonah Jameson publicly released doctored footage that makes it falsely appear Spider-Man murdered Quentin Beck.
Morbius is scheduled to open in theaters July 31.
