The finalists of DC Universe's DC YOU Unscripted are scheduled to be announced January 24 in a special episode of the streaming service's DC Daily weekday news show. The finalists will be named, and according to DC they will explain their pitches to the public at that time.
Originally announced during New York Comic Con, DC YOU Unscripted is a fan competition organized by DC and Ideas United that is planned to culminate in one fan's pitch getting the greenlight to become an unscripted TV show on DC Universe.
The submission window was from October 3 to November 18, with fans encouraged to submit unscripted tv show pitches such as "game hows to game play to hot food to hot takes" according to a press release.
At the time of the announcement, DC Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee said 10 finalists would be brought to Hollywood to refine their pitches over the course of the day with industry professionals. Then they would be judged by a panel of DC executives (including Jim Lee) and unnamed "entertainment luminaries."
"Three finalists will move on to have unscripted pilots produced by Ideas United, with one final entrant receiving a series order which will launch exclusively on DC Universe," explained DC in a press release.
DC aims to launch the winner's unscripted show by fall 2020.
