U.S. Representative John Lewis has announced that he's undergoing treatment for Stage IV pancreatic cancer. Lewis serves as the representative for Georgia's 5th Congressional District, and entered the comic industry with the March trilogy - an autiobiographical series about the civil rights movement.

"I have been in some kind of fight - for freedom, equality, basic human rights - for nearly my entire life. I have never faced a fight quite like the one I have now," Lewis said in the announcement. "This month in a routine medical visit, and subsequent tests, doctors discovered Stage IV pancreatic cancer. This diagnosis has been reconfirmed.

"While I am clear-eyed about the prognosis, doctors have told me that recent medical advances have made this type of cancer treatable in many cases, that treatment options are no longer as debilitating as they once were, and that I have a fighting chance."

Lewis plans to continue serving in the U.S. House of Repreentatives.

Lewis' upcoming OGN Run: Book One was originally announced for an August 2018 release, but after a series of postponements it was removed from the publisher's schedule.

"The Abrams ComicArts team will do its best to keep fans of March up to date on any further developments regarding the series and will release a statement when an official on sale-date has been determined," Abrams told Newsarama back in July.
