Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker earned an approximate $101.5 million globally in Wednesday and Thursday preview showings, according to Deadline.
That figure includes $40m from the domestic box office. The U.K. leads The Rise of Skywalker's international markets with $8.1m in box office receipts, followed by Germany with $7.2m, France at $5.3m, and Australia at $4.3m. China took in approximately $6m across Wednesday and Thursday.
This places The Rise of Skywalker behind both The Last Jedi and The Force Awakens in Thursday previews at the domestic box office. 2017's The Last Jedi brought in $45m in domestic previews, while 2015's The Force Awakens takes the recent trilogy's crown with a $57m domestic Thursday box office take (via The Hollywood Reporter).
Pre-release opening weekend projections estimated a potential $450m global opening weekend for The Rise of Skywalker.
