CBS All Access has greenlit a second season of Star Trek: Picard according to Deadline - more than a month ahead of the series' debut. Picard's second season will reportedly be 10 episodes (like the first) and has already netted $20.4 million in tax incentives from the California state govenment - a record for a TV series, according to the Hollywood trade.
The series' current showrunner, Michael Chabon, has plans to leave his role if and when the upcoming CBS-produced Showtime series The Adventures of Kavalier & Clay commences production.
Star Trek: Picard is scheduled to debut January 23, 2020 on CBS All Access. The second season is anticipated to debut in late 2020 or early 2021.
