Newsarama has learned that Marvel Entertainment's New York City offices have moved to a new building - on historic Sixth Avenue.
According to a Marvel representative the company's previous offices at 135 W. 50th Street were closed on Wednesday evening to facilitate the move to its new offices at 1290 Sixth Avenue, which opened for business Monday morning.
How far away was the move? About a block over, or about a 3-minute walk.
Originally built in 1963, the 43-story building the Marvel offices now occupy takes up the entire block between 51st and 52nd Street along the eastern side of Sixth Avenue.
Marvel called its previous NYC location home from October 2010 to last week, renting one floor with approximately 60,000 square feet. The company's footprint at the new building is unknown.
Marvel's new home is listed as a partial asset of the Trump Organization, per the company's website. According to Crain, the Trump organization owns a 30% stake in the building as of 2016 - with the remainder owned at that time by realtor Steven Roth through his company, Vornado Realty Trust.
