Charlie's Angels director Elizabeth Banks will direct and star in a horror film titled The Invisible Woman for Universal Pictures, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The film's reported story, an original concept by Banks, is unrelated to Universal's other film The Invisible Man, an update of the studio's 1933 film of the same name, which stars Elizabeth Moss as a woman being stalked by her invisible ex.
Interestingly, the 1933 film spun-off a sequel also titled The Invisible Woman in 1940 - though that too is unrelated to Banks' project.
As for the film sharing a name with the Marvel character the Invisible Woman/Sue Storm of the Fantastic Four, Marvel's exclusive trademark on the name extends only to "comic books; printed periodicals in the field of comic book stories and artwork; posters".
No release date for The Invisible Woman was reported.
