Reports of JOKER Sequel & Other Films Called 'Flat False' By Competing Hollywood Trade

The Hollywood Reporter's anonymously-sourced article reporting of a Joker sequel and other DC origins films by writer/director Todd Phillips has been called out as "clickbait" and "flat false" by competing Hollywood trade Deadline.

Citing their own anonymous sources, Deadline reports that there are "no deals... nor even any negotiations" with Phillips for a Joker sequel. They go on to say that the THR-reported October 7 meeting between Phillips and Warner Bros. Pictures Chairman Toby Emmerich never occurred.

Deadline's Mike Fleming Jr. goes on to say that Phillips "hasn't even considered overseeing other DC character films."
