ICYMI: MARVEL's Big Weekend News Announcements

Marvel Comics brought a series of announcements to London's MCM Comic Con over thr weekend - and Newsarama covered it. Here's what's been announced, with links to in-depth stories on each.

- X-Men/Fantastic Four, delving into the place the Fantastic Four's Franklin Richards might have amongst his fellow mutants on Krakoa. Read out interview with series writer Chip Zdarsky.

- Alex Ross will be leading a spiritual sequel to the classic Marvels series with an anthology simply titled Marvel. Ross will spearhead the series, choosing the creators and guiding the stories. Contributors announced so far are Joe Jusko and Dan Brereton. Read about that here.

- Jonathan Hickman is spearheading a third X-ongoing, Giant-Size X-Men. Each issue will feature a standalone story with a guest artist, with February's #1 being Jean Grey/Emma Frost and artist Russell Dauterman. Read about that here.

- The alt-universe Peter Parker Spider-Man Noir is returning for a new limited series that will flesh out his world - promising noir versions of Spider-Man's biggest enemies and allies. Read about that here.

- Conan's time in the Marvel U continues as he hits Las Vegas for Conan: Battle for the Serpent Crown. Read about that here.

- Robert E. Howard's red-headed swordsman Dark Agnes (whom Red Sonya/Red Sonja was based on) gets her own Marvel limited series from Becky Cloonan and Luca Pizzari. Read about that here.

- And Marvel's Star Wars title Doctor Aphra will be relaunched in April, with a new creative team: writer Alyssa Wong and artist Marika Cresta. Read about that here.
