In comic books, Dylan Dog follows a paranormal investigator as he investigates supernatural occurences. Dark Horse is the U.S. licensor of the original Italian comic books. The comic book has been adapted twice for film - 1994's Cemetery Man starring Rupert Everett, and 2011's Dylan Dog: Dead of Night with Brandon Routh.

Bonelli is aiming to produce a 10-episode first seson of Dylan Dog, and use it as the flagship of a shared universe of comics-to-TV projects including Nathan Never, Mister No, Dampyr, Dragonero, Il Confine, and Martin Mystere.
