Watchmen co-creator Dave Gibbons' Treatment has been optioned by the film devision of the comic's original digital publisher Madefire, according to Variety.
Written and drawn by Gibbons, Treatment is a globe-spanning story set in a dystopian future where trained killers hunt down criminals on television for entertainment and sport.
“Madefire has been at the cutting edge of publishing for years now, using technology to bring comic book stories alive,” said Gibbons in a statement. “I’m thrilled to have Treatment be a part of their expansion into film and television and look forward to continuing our long and happy association.”
No timeframe or network for Treatment have been announced.
