The CW has unveiled Brandon Routh's look as Superman for its upcoming "Crisis On Infinite Earths" Arrowverse crossover - and his costume is confirmed to be that of the Kingdom Come Superman.
Though CW hasn't confirmed whether the Superman Routh portrays will have a storyline based on that of the Kingdom Come comic book title (in which an older Superman comes out of retirment to stand up to a younger, more brutal generation of heroes), Routh's costume is a dead-ringer for Alex Ross' Kingdom Come design - down to the graying hair at his temples.
The color and texture of the suit and raised chest symbol (although larger in size) is also reminiscent of his Superman Returns costume from the 2006 feature film in which he starred.
Routh is also confirmed to portray both Superman and his regular Arrowverse character Ray Palmer, the Atom in the crossover.
"Crisis on Infinite Earths” will crossover Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman in a five-episode event, with three episodes airing in December and the remaining two airing in January.
