We've seen the images in all their Jim Lee-ish goodness, now take a look at the images with Brian Bendis' words and dialogue in this preview of DC's Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium #1, in comic book stores and digital platforms Wednesday.

Here's how DC describes the start of the two-issue event series:

"What do superheroes do after they’ve retired from crimefighting? Well, if you’re Kara Zor-El, you become President of the United States. That seems to be the situation as Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium, the two-issue miniseries that launches Brian Michael Bendis’ new vision of the futuristic team, begins. Rendered vividly by none other than Jim Lee—who is joined by artists Dustin Nguyen, Andrea Sorrentino and André Lima Araújo in this first issue—the opening sequence introduces us to President Supergirl as she’s visited by former vigilante Rose Forrest.

"Of course, Rose has been creating plenty of trouble for the villains of Metropolis over in Action Comics, but Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium is set many years from now. Supergirl has clearly aged…so why hasn’t Rose? It’s a mystery that will propel Bendis’ storyline farther and farther into the future, past the shocking destruction of humanity (and a run-in with a boy named Kamandi) and off-world, sowing the seeds of the Legion’s creation along the way.

"But Rose? She just wants to know what’s going to happen now that they’ve stopped making the medication that keeps her alter-ego, Thorn, at bay. It’s been many years since Thorn has been in control and I can’t imagine she’s very happy at having been locked away…"
