Lauren Sankovitch has stepped down as Managing Editor of Kelly Sue DeConnick and Matt Fraction's Milkfed Criminal Masterminds.  Sankovitch has worked for the comics/tv/film production company since January 2015, editing the two writers' creator-owned titles.

"After five fantastic years with Team Milkfed (and twelve total in comics…! Holy moly.), I’m off to graduate school to study geology, which has been a passion since I was a kid," Sankovitch told Newsarama. "My father was in mining and I took to playing in the dirt at an early age."

Sankovitch previously worked at Marvel Comics from 2007 to 2013, editing titles for the Avengers line.

"While I’m still doing a bit of freelance work here and there, I will miss my comics family dearly," Sankovitch added. "Fortunately, Milkfed will be in good hands with Turner Lobey coming in as the new managing editor. He’s got a motorcycle, you guys. And a dog. He’s pretty cool. Huge hugs to everyone I’ve had the very great privilege to work with. I look forward to sharing my endless rock puns with the world at large."

"We’re going to miss our ‘Snake’ terribly, but we’re so proud of her for following her dreams, and you know, doing her part to save our dying planet," said DeConnick.

"Oh god, I'm so sweaty," said Milkfed's incoming Managing Editor Turney Lobey. "Please don't let me screw up."
