Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige sees potential in the character of Dane Whitman, who will appear in November 2020's Eternals, portrayed by Kit Harington.

Harington's casting as Whitman was announced over the weekend, sparking expectation that the Game of Thrones actor could be the next Marvel superhero, the Black Knight.

"He's a really amazing actor, and this part came up in the Eternals film we're doing. We were so happy when he agreed to join," Feige told Good Morning America of Harington's casting in the part. "And it is a part that perhaps could grow into something else in the future."

In comic books, Black Knight is an Avenger who wields a cursed blade. He's also got a longstanding relationship with Sersei of the Eternals.

Though it's not explicit, Feige maybe hinting that Harington will appear only as Whitman in Eternals and his evolution into the costumed superhero the Black Knight may come later, in a sequel or another film entirely, perhaps a even new incarnation of the Avengers.

We'll find out when it hits theaters November 6, 2020.
