Updated August 24, 2019: Game of Thrones' Kit Harington has joined the cast of Marvel Studios' Eternals as a non-Eternals character, as announced during Marvel's D23 Expo presentation.
No other details of his character were announced - could he be playing Dane Whitman/the Black Knight, who has a long relationship with Sersei? Gemma Chan was announced as playing Sersei alongside the announcement of Harington's casting in an unnamed role.
Eternals is due out in theaters November 6, 2020.
Original Story: Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington has signed on for a mystery role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, according to Deadline.
The Hollywood trade reports that Harington will take a role in an undisclosed franchise headed up by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. Deadline states more details could come out during this weekend's D23 Expo.
No further details on which role Harington could take or which film he could appear in were reported. Harington has long been a popular choice among fans to take the role of X-Men's Wolverine - though there's nothing in Deadline's report to indicate that's the mystery role he's taken.
