One of Michael Keaton's iconic Batman suit from 1989's Batman is scheduled to be auctioned off in September. The suit is one of 900 pieces of movie/tv memorabilia being offered by the Prop Store in a two-day event at London's BFI IMAX on September 30 and October 1.
According to the auctioneer, this screen-worn Batman suit is estimated to sell between £80,000 to £120,000 (that's roughly $96,000 to $145,000 in U.S. dollars).
The 1989 suit was designed by Bob Ringwood, and then sculpted by Vin Burnham and Alli Eynon for an estimated cost of $250,000 - which, adjusted for inflation would be approximately $542,500 today.
A free preview exhibition of the auction items, including this suit, is scheduled to open September 18 at BFI IMAX.
