DC recently issued recalls to retailers for its planned August 14 releases of Superman #14 and Supergirl #33, citing discrepancies between the covers and actual story content. The publisher asked retailers to destroy the copies that were delivered - but that doesn't mean copies of the recalled comic books aren't out there for sale.
Copies of both the regular and variant covers of Superman #14 and Supergirl #33 have made their way to eBay despite the recall. Though DC says the content of both issues are planned for release with different covers that better reflect the actual story inside, the copies that have made their way into the world are on auction for as high as $61in the case of Supergirl #33, with copies of Superman #14 accruing bids up to $36 for a single copy.
Combined lots of multiple copies are also hitting eBay, with at least one auction consisting of eight copies of the various covers reaching a bid of $254.99 so far.
DC now plans to release Superman #14 on August 28 with a revised cover, followed by Supergirl #33 with a new cover on September 4.
