With Avengers: Endgame now the highest grossing film of all time worldwide, directors the Russo Bros. are eyeing their next few projects - and an X-Men-centric Marvel movie isn't out of the question.
"We've always loved us some Wolverine," Anthony Russo said in a Reddit AMA, in response to a fan asking which Marvel character not currently in the MCU the directors would most want to introduce.
The Russos also said they would have used "double the amount" of characters present in Avengers: Endgame had the X-Men and Fantastic Four characters' film rights come to Marvel Studios through Disney's purchase of 20th Century Fox in time. However, the purchase didn't come to fruition until after filming was entirely complete on Endgame, well after the development and writing process.
They didn't name which characters they would have liked to use.
At this time, Marvel Studios has not announced any X-Men related film or TV projects - though Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige did mention "mutants" during the studio's Hall H presentation at July's Comic-Con Internation: San Diego.
