Updated August 24, 2019: Barry Keoghan's Eternals role has been confirmed. Keoghan will take on the role of Druig - an Eternal who becomes a KGB toturer in mortal life, eventually living as a dictator.
Keoghan's casting and role were announced during Marvel Studios' Saturday presentation at Disney's D23 Expo. It's not clear if his nefarious comic book roots will play out onscreen.
Eternals is due out in theaters November 6, 2020.
Original Story: Barry Keoghan is in talks for a role in Marvel Studios' The Eternals, according to Collider. Keoghan's role has not been specified.
If cast, Keoghan would join a confirmed cast of Richard Madden (Ikaris), Angelina Jolie (Thena), Kumail Nanjiani (Kingo), Salma Hayek (Ajak), Brian Tyree Henry (Phastos), Lauren Ridloff (Makkari), Lia McHugh (Sprite), and Don Lee (Gilgamesh).
Gemma Chan is reportedly being added to the cast as well but whether its as a new character or her Captain Marvel character Kree warrior Minn-Erva is unclear.
The film is being directed by Chloe Zhao from a script by Matthew and Ryan Firpo.
Keoghan stars in HBO's Chernobyl, and appeared in Warner Bros.'s Dunkirk. Keoghan is set to star in FX's Y: The Last Man TV adaptation beginning in 2020.
The Eternals is scheduled to hit theaters November 6, 2020.
