Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld posted a casting on Instagram for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson over the weekend, saying he'd love to see Johnson join the Deadpool franchise as Garrison Kane, one of Liefeld's other Marvel creations.

"Dearest [The Rock] based on reports of outstanding chemistry between you and a familiar friend, I believe the next logical step is for you to join the Marvel Universe as Garrison Kane in a future Deadpool installment," Liefeld said on Instagram, referencing Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds' cameo alongside Johnson in Hobbs and Shaw. "You’re a natural and Kane is already celebrated by millions of comics fans who have thrilled to his adventures since I first introduced him in X-Force #2! Your pal, Rob!"

Though the idea is just a suggestion, as Liefeld isn't involved in casting or producing the Deadpool films, Johnson himself seemed taken with the idea, responding enthusiastically on Twitter.

"Dearest Rob, thank you amigo. It’s true, in [Hobbs and Shaw], I have insanely outstanding chemistry with our familiar friend," Johnson tweeted. "Since you created the characters, how does one Garrison Kane get alone with one [Deadpool]?"

So far, Deadpool's next movie appearance hasn't been confirmed. With Disney having purchased 20th Century Fox, it's unclear if Deadpool would be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe or kept separate in potential future films.
