With Natalie Portman returning as Jane Foster to take up 'Mew-Mew' herself in the recently announced Thor: Love and Thunder, the natural question is, will any of the other supporting cast from Thor and Thor: The Dark World return as well?
If so, Kat Dennings, who played Jane Foster's intern Darcy Lewis in both of those films, is ready for the call.
“I love that. I think that’s genius. It is so smart, and it’s accurate [from the comics]. I am so excited," Dennings told People at a Television Critics Association event of Jane Foster taking up the hammer and mantle of Thor. "As a fan of Marvel projects, I am so excited."
But as for whether she'll make it back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a question for which Dennings herself is eager to find an answer.
“I hope so! We’d all like to know that answer, I don’t know as of right now,” she explained. “I would like to, I am a huge fan of [director Taika Watiti], he’s one of my favorite directors of all time. He’s incredible. So purely from a thing of I love all of those people, I love Marvel and I would love to go back. I also really want to work with him, but I don’t know.”
“[When the news broke] everyone was asking me [if I was going to be in it]," Dennings continued. "I was like 'Ma’am, I also wonder, but I don’t know.' It’s very [Marvel] to not tell me, so, we’ll see.”
If Dennings does return as Darcy, we've got an idea as to how she could fit in to what we know of the film's plot.
Thor: Love and Thunder is due out in theaters November 5, 2021.
