Dear White People's Teyonah Parris has been cast as the adult Monica Rambeau for Disney+'s WandaVision.
Parris will assume the role after Akira Akbar played a pre-teen version of the character in the 1990s-set Captain Marvel.
In comic books, Monica Rambeau assumed the Captain Marvel in the 1980s and 1990s, and was at one time the leader of the Avengers. She later took on other superhero names such as Photon and Spectrum.
WandaVision is set for a spring 2021 debut.
