Awesome Media & Entertainment has announced plans to launch a comic book imprint, as reported by Deadline.
The imprint, which is described as a 'graphic novel studio' headed up by writer Richard Dinnick as Publisher, will focus on developing comic book stories suitable for adaptation into other media such as TV and movies.
The imprint's first title is Retrograde, which is described as a "post-apocalyptic love story about the survivors of a retro-virus that has dialed back the evolutionary clock on most of the planet’s DNA."
Dinnick will write Retrograde, which will feature art from Pasquale Qualano and colorist Charlie Kirkoff. Comicraft's Richard Starkings and Jimmy Betancourt will letter Retrograde.
Later planned titles include Brexodus, a story about a fictional alternate version of England attempting to leave the Roman Empire, and #Guardian, in which a CIA agent becomes a vigilante who rights wrongs called out on social media.
Retrograde will debut this week at Comic-Con International: San Diego. Brexodus and #Guardian are expected for release in 2020.
