Tania Biswas is leaving Yen Press to be Senior Editor of Penguin Random House's new English language manga line of Square Enix titles.

Biswas leaves Yen Press after 13 years, in which she worked her way up from Editorial Assistant to Senior Editor of the company - a title she earned in February. In her role there, she adapted and edited 30 to 40 manga per year.

Biswas begins her new position with Penguin on Monday, July 1.

Penguin Random House's partnership with Square Enix was announced in May 2019, and framed as a "multi-year sales and distribution agreement" for manga, novels, and art books beginning this Fall. Square Enix's big titles are Final Fantasy, Full Metal Alchemist, Soul Eater, Black Butler, Tomb Raider, Dragon Quest, and NieR: Automata. The company previously licensed individual titles for North American release, but now have an overline line with Penguin Random House.

The first manga releases under this agreement are Hi Score Girl, A Man and His Cat, and a complete edition of Soul Eater.
