Classic animated Batman villain Phantasm is set to make her core-DC Universe comic book debut in 2020's Batman/Catwoman from writer Tom King and artists Clay Mann and Tomeu Morey.

The news arrived with a teaser image by Mann, which the artist tweeted, seen below:

Phantasm debuted as the eponymous villain of 1993's Batman: The Animated Series spin-off feature film Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. Secretly Andrea Beaumont, the Phantasm is a ruthless vigilante with lethal methods and a vendetta against Batman whose identity is a core mystery of the film. The Phantasm was based roughly on the comic book villain, the Reaper.

Since Mask of the Phantasm, Beaumont has appeared in other media, including appearances in Batman Adventures and Batman Beyond comic books. Her impending appearance in Batman/Catwoman will mark her mainstream DC Universe comic book debut.

Batman/Catwoman #1 (of 12) is due out in January 2020.
