The ending of Avengers: Endgame left Thor riding off into the expanse of space alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy with his future wide open - and now actor Chris Hemsworth has addressed where in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Thor might pop up next.
"I'd play that character again. I love it so much - especially if there's something unique to do again with it," Hemsworth told Cinema Blend of playing Thor. "I felt like the last three films were very, very different each time. It really felt like a totally different character."
Despite his enthusiasm, Hemsworth hasn't sealed a deal to take up the mantle of the God of Thunder again. However, he's got an idea of where he could appear next - and it's in the exact same place we last saw him, jetting off alongside the Guardians, or as Thor called them, the "Asgardians of the Galaxy."
"I don't even know when or if they're shooting [Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3]," Hemsworth explained. "After the Avengers press tour I kind of went and buried my head in the sand. I'll work with any of those guys. Asgardians Of The Galaxy. That's actually great. You might've just got me my next job."
The "Asgardians of the Galaxy" concept has comic book roots, where that name was used by a team of spacefaring Asgardian heroes.
It's worth noting that director James Gunn's script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been in place well before Avengers: Endgame was released, meaning that the question of whether Thor is included in the story may already be answered behind the scenes.
However, plans change, and especially with Gunn (who consulted directly on Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame) back in the director's chair, there may be room to fit an Asgardian aboard the Benatar.
