Two of IDW Publishing's co-founders, Ted Adams and Robbie Robbins, are launching their own publishing company called Clover Press. First reported by Publisher's Weekly, Clover Press will publish graphic novels, art books, prose books, "and other works."
Adams, who stepped down as IDW's CEO in 2018, describes Clover Press as a "joint publishing venture" with IDW but it would not be an imprint of that company.
"IDW and Clover will share no infrastructure or overhead," said Adams, but said that "IDW is investing in Clover."
Adams describes Clover as "a boutique publisher," with a limited release schedule of two or three books a month. The publisher's output will be a mixture of new work and reprints, beginning with a retailer variant cover of Marvel's Silver Surfer Black #1 drawn by Gabriel Rodriguez.
