CONFIRMED: TOM KING to Co-Write NEW GODS Movie with AVA DUVERNAY

Updated May 29, 2019: New Gods director Ava Duvernay has confirmed that Mister Miracle writer Tom King will co-write the film.

Duvernay posted an image of herself with King on Twitter, along with a caption stating "Hey ?[Tom King]. Ready to write New Gods, buddy?"


Original Story: Mister Miracle writer Tom King will co-write Warner Bros.' New Gods movie alongside director Ava Duvernay, according to TheWrap.

King, who currently writes DC's Batman and Superman 100-Page Giant, offered a somewhat revamped take on Mister Miracle in a 12-issue series with artist Mitch Gerads which focused on Scott Free's relationship with his wife Big Barda.

No details of the New Gods movie have been announced. Characters and concepts from the New Gods and the Fourth World, created by Jack Kirby for DC Comics, were central to the plot of 2017's Justice League.

No release date has been set for New Gods.
