Brightburn screenwriters Mark and Brian Gunn say they're working on "sort of a DC/Vertigo adaptation" for New Line Cinema. In an interview with The Beat, the Gunn brothers (yes, related to James Gunn) say "we can't totally talk about it, but it's not a heavy horror idea."
New Line is a subsidiary of Warner Bros., and with that a sister company of DC and its Vertigo imprint. With that, New Line would have access to the rights to any Vertigo title DC owns the films rights to - except those already licensed out to other companies.
The only announced DC/Vertigo adaptation New Line is attached to is The Kitchen.
