2013's Man of Steel introduced Amy Adams as Lois Lane, a role she carried into Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. But according to director Zack Snyder, the role almost went to another comic book movie star - Zoe Saldana.
"At a time, it was between [Amy Adams] and Zoe Saldana," Snyder told ComicBookDebate. "They’re totally different, but their presence is super strong.”
At the time, Saldana was fresh off her second appearance as Lt. Uhura in Star Trek Into Darkness, and of course had co-starred in the all-time worldwide box office champ Avatar, making her a hot commodity in Hollywood, especially as a potential franchise actor.
Despite being passed up for the role of Lois Lane, Saldana landed on her feet, being cast as Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy, a character she's played across four movies, including this year's Avengers: Endgame.
