Warren Ellis has shared new details on his upcoming Wildcats series with artists Ramon Villalobos and Tamra Bonvillain via his newsletter.
Along with confirming that Wildcats is planned to run for six issues, Ellis shared more details about the book's plot, which is based around the tagline "Saving the human race from the human race."
Here's an excerpt from Ellis' pitch for Wildcats.
"The Wild Storm is a slow burn, with careful gridded pages, carrying many plotlines in a novelistic way. Wildcats is none of these things. It will move very fast, it will focus exclusively on the main cast and the people and events they meet, and it will be as explosive and crazy as I can possibly make it. It will be, deliberately, the precise opposite of The Wild Storm. Control. Escape. Breakaway civilisations. Central planning. Survival. Conceptual breakthrough and the discovery that our universe is bigger than we thought. And the world is stranger than we thought."
Ellis also revealed that he hand-picked the art team of Ramon Villalobos and Tamra Bonvillain based on their work on Vertigo's Border Town.
Previously, Ellis stated that he plans to write a Zealot solo series following Wildcats.
Wildcats #1 is due out August 28.
