Lion Forge has laid off Associate Editor Christina "Steenz" Stewart following its merger with Oni Press under the new umbrella company, Polarity.
"Can't say anything about the merger. But I'll be looking for freelance work soon," Stewart tweeted. "Stay tuned and thanks to everyone reaching out so far."
Stewart joined Lion Forge in December 2016 as the company's Social Media & Community Manager, and was promoted to Associate Editor in March 2018. As part of her duties at Lion Forge, Stewart was the lead editor on the monthly gaming-focused magazine Rolled & Told. In addition to that, she edited several comics titles and was part of the acquisition of new titles for the company, supervised editorial assistants and interns, and attended conventions.
"RIP Rolled & Told: The Steenz Era," Stewart tweeted. "It already had a huge following and was going to blow up after the HC released. I do not know what's going to happen to Rolled & Told. But I'm sorry to all the folks I hired that never got to contribute. And I thank everyone that helped make the book a success."
In addition to her editorial work, Stewart is the artist of Oni Press' recent Archival Quality and has a story in the upcoming Dead Beats anthology from A Wave Blue World.
